The journey to Kinam National High School in Malapatan, Sarangani Province is not for the faint of heart. The winding road, carved into the lush mountainside, reveals both the challenges and beauty of the upland communities. From steep climbs to narrow, rocky stretches, the trip was an adventure in itself, rewarding travelers with breathtaking views of rolling hills, verdant landscapes, and the warm smiles of the people who call this place home.
It was to this hidden gem of a community that the Sox Bloggers Society (SBS) traveled for another meaningful outreach under its advocacy program #SoxBeeShares. The activity was made possible through the generosity of Gaisano Mall of GenSan, which continues to be a steadfast partner of SBS in its annual community engagements.
The KINAM National High School Family was overjoyed to be chosen as the recipient of Gaisano Mall of GenSan’s Tools for Schools and Happy Feet Project. Each learner received a school supplies packet to help them in their studies, while a select group of students received slippers — a simple yet impactful gift in an area where reaching school often means walking long, rugged paths.

To complement the distribution of gifts, Chiclet E. Moscoso-Rillo, Vice President for Internal Affairs of the Sox Bloggers Society and Executive Director of the South Cotabato Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc., delivered a short lecture on online safety and social media etiquette. As digital spaces become part of everyday life for young people, SBS continues to champion responsible digital citizenship as part of its advocacy.

The event was made more meaningful through the collaboration of several stakeholders. Gaisano Mall of GenSan once again demonstrated its commitment to community development by supporting this cause. The LGU of Malapatan, led by Hon. Exodus Sumbo, also played a crucial role by providing transportation assistance. Special thanks go to Mr. Jomari Estrera and Mr. Mark Christopher Quiño for helping ensure safe passage to and from Kinam.
For the teachers and learners of Kinam NHS, the day was more than just about receiving supplies; it was about feeling seen, supported, and inspired. For Sox Bloggers and Gaisano Mall of GenSan, it was another reminder of the power of partnerships and collective generosity.
May this engagement be the beginning of a long-lasting and meaningful relationship between the Sox Bloggers Society, Gaisano Mall of GenSan, and Kinam National High School — one that continues to create ripples of positive change in the uplands of Sarangani.
